Terms and Conditions

CHECKING IN

When you arrive, please present your membership keytag to reception with each visit.  This is the first point of contact we have with you and we want to get to know you.

MEMBERSHIP KEYTAGS

When you join you will receive a Membership keytag, which will be issued from reception. Please allow 3-7 days after joining for it to be prepared. In the interim, just bring along your membership receipt for access to the Club.

LOST MEMBERSHIP KEYTAGS

Sometimes tags become lost or stolen.  If this happens to you, please ask reception for a new tagAs these tags are expensive, a replacement fee of $5 will apply.

LOCKERS

Lockers are provided in the change rooms for your use.  All you need to do is bring your own padlock or combination lock on a daily basis as required.  Any locks left on lockers overnight will be removed and destroyed by management.

AGE LIMIT

Only people aged 12 and over are allowed to use Geelong’s Gym facilities, other than crèche and school holiday programs. Membership is available to 12-17 years old with written consent from a parent or guardian. Please note that the minimum age for boxing classes, other than school groups, is 16 years of age.

AEROBICS

For your convenience and safety, class numbers are restricted to certain levels. On occasion large numbers may limit participation in some classes. To avoid disappointment, we suggest that you arrive at least 5-10 minutes prior to class commencement. A few procedures are necessary to ensure comfort to all participants:

  • In order to eliminate the risk of minor injuries, please do not enter the class after it has commenced.  The warm up track is an important part of avoiding injuries and should not be missed.
  • You must bring in a workout towel to every class.
  • You must remain in class for the cool down exercises – again, this is an important part of avoiding injuries.

Management reserves the right to alter class type, class instructor or class frequency at any time.

STEAM ROOM

The Steam area closes 10 minutes prior to the club closing time (steam will be turned off) - this allows time for you to change and leave the club before closing.

GYMNASIUM

All members are requested to:

  • Bring a towel to each workout – no towel; no workout!
  • Place a towel on all benches and mats during use and wipe down computerized equipment after use.
  • Replace weights on racks after use
  • Adhere to time limits set on computerized equipment
  • Show courtesy to fellow members and share equipment
  • Please report any maintenance problems to staff. Do not attempt to correct any difficulty yourself.

CRECHE

  • Signing In
It is the parent’s responsibility to make sure that all children are signed in and out on arrival and departure. This is a Child Services regulation.
  • Occasional Care
We now provide occasional care, which means you can leave your child here without remaining on the premises.
  • Sick Children
Please do not bring sick children to crèche. This contravenes the regulations of the Children’s Services Act and is unfair on both your children and other children. Should we notice that a child is sick our staff will retrieve the parent from his/her workout.
  • Clean Nappies
Your child must be wearing a clean nappy when left at crèche. We do not accept children who arrive with soiled nappies.
  • Taking the child to crèche
You must take your child all the way into the crèche, please do not leave them at reception expecting them to go to crèche by themselves.
  • Age Limit
The crèche is provided for newborn to 10 years old.  School age children must be booked in prior to arrival.
  • Crèche Information Card
The Children’s Services Regulations require that these cards be filled out for all children attending the crèche. Information required is of a confidential nature and will be used for emergency purposes only.

Children under the age of 12 are not to be left unattended at reception under any circumstance due to liability and safety reasons

Kindly note that non compliance to the above standards may result in disqualification of your child from the crèche.

SMOKING

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the club at any time.

JOINING FEE

The joining fee is a non-refundable payment at the commencement of your membership. This is a once only payment that you will not need to pay again unless your membership is allowed to expire.

In order to receive this reduced rate, subscriptions must be paid before or by the actual membership expiry date. Members who allow their membership to lapse will not be eligible for the renewal rate. Current rates apply at the time of renewal. Your new Membership term will be calculated from the previous Membership expiry date, not the payment date.

PERSONAL LIABILITY

Victorian Government legislation states that a five day cooling off period is to be provided, during which a full refund of membership can be claimed. Refunds are happily provided during that time.  After the cooling off period refunds will not be given, unless required under legislation.

ACCESS

Management reserves the right to restrict access to any part of the club whether for repair, upkeep and maintenance or restricted use. This includes restriction on specific areas of the club due to new classes, facilities or programs. Management will always retain total control over the standards, policies and operations of the club. This will also include the power to set the hours of operation, membership fees and all prices and charges, to establish types of membership; to make and enforce all rules and regulations governing the affairs and conduct of the club, and its members in connection with the club, to determine matters of discipline, decorum and harmony, including the right to censure, suspend or expel a member at the discretion of management.

CLOSING TIME

The club premises close at specific times. We ask that all members and guests stop using the equipment 15 minutes prior to closing time if showering and 5 minutes prior to closing time if not showering, to allow time for stretching.

GUESTS

You may bring a guest with you who has not used the Club before for free once.  For any subsequent visits normal casual rates will apply.  Guests must be over 18 years of age. 12-17 year old guests may attend the gym if accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times when using the facility.

RULE INTERPRETATION AND AMENDMENT

All questions concerning the interpretation of the rules and regulations, documented in these Terms and Conditions, should be directed to management.  These rules and regulations may be changed or amended by the Management at its sole discretion at any time.  The decision of the management will be final.

10 Reasons to Join Geelong's Gym

Geelong's Gym is perfect for us…

“Our team has been using Geelong’s Gym in pre-season training, especially as our training facilities were under renovations, and we have been continuing to utilize the Geelong's Gym facility with the junior players. We have found it to be in the perfect position for us, with a very welcoming environment where our players are able to train without being disturbed. It has proven to be a good alternative to our training facilities, somewhere fresh where we don’t feel like we’re at work. Geelong’s Gym is perfect for us because it has all the facilities we need, with an excellent amount of space, where we’re treated as regular members of the public.”
